The Finish Line 5-Piece Brush Set combines five purpose-designed bike cleaning brushes to make light work of mud, dirt, road grime and stubborn drivetrain build-up. With different brush shapes and bristle stiffnesses for different parts of the bike, you can clean everything from large frame areas to the awkward spaces between cassette sprockets.

For general bike washing, the large soft-bristled brush is particularly effective. Its dense bristles hold plenty of soapy water and create a rich lather, making it ideal for quickly cleaning frames, wheels, forks and other larger surfaces without endless trips back to the bucket.

Where this kit really earns its place in the Smoove workshop, though, is drivetrain cleaning.

The stiff-bristled loop brush is excellent for scrubbing cassettes and chainrings, helping work Smoove Prep into areas where old lubricant, grease and grime accumulate. The smaller detailing brushes let you get between sprockets, around derailleur components and into other hard-to-reach areas for a much more thorough clean.

If you're preparing a previously lubricated drivetrain before switching to Smoove Lube, these brushes and Smoove Prep make an excellent combination. Removing old lubricant and contamination is essential for helping a wax-based chain lubricant adhere properly and deliver its best performance.

For the best results when preparing your drivetrain for Smoove, use Smoove Prep with the stiffer brushes to clean the cassette and chainrings, removing old lubricant and accumulated grime with ease.

For the chain itself, we'd recommend pairing Smoove Prep with a dedicated chain-cleaning tool for a thorough clean inside and around the links.

Once everything has been cleaned and rinsed, allow the chain to dry completely before applying Smoove Lube.
